It is with much excitement that we say a massive thank you to the Liam Fairhurst Foundation, who this week presented Little Miracles Soham with a donation for £350 , simply amazing! We cannot thank Mark, Sarah and Callum Fairhurst, as well as their supporters, enough for this generosity.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the work that the Liam Fairhurst Foundation do, we really encourage you to get involved in their causes, have a good look through their website and follow them on Twitter at @liamffoundation – they are a true inspiration to anyone.
The charity was set up in the memory of Liam Fairhurst, to continue his amazing legacy and help young people with illnesses and disabilities.
Liam was diagnosed with soft tissue cancer at 10 years old in 2005 and sadly passed away in 2009 but he was a boy who knew no limits, had immense determination and generosity and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity despite all that was in front of him. Liam was rightly awarded with such honours as the “Pride of Britain” award and “Britain’s Kindest Kid”. Liam was one of the very few people you meet in life, who, regardless of whatever achievements you had made in life yourself, you immediately felt humbled.
The work that Mark, Sarah and Callum have done to continue his work since, is simply breath taking. Just recently Corkers Crisps teamed up with the Foundation to carry their logo on limited edition packets as well as smash the Guinness Book of Records for the largest ever bag of crisps.
Its a really nice coming together of the two Soham based organisations, at the start of September one of our own members, Josh Heron (age 7) took on the Cambridge Spartan Kids Challenge, raising £240 for the foundation.
Hopefully over time our paths will continue to cross for the benefit of everyone we support.
