Take a bow Sam & Mark Chinery – Man v Mountain and over 23 miles of rough terrain has officially been conquered!.
Our volunteer Sam and her husband Mark bravely took on the “Man v Mountain” 23 mile run / 5500ft ascent challenge around Snowdonia. The legendary mountain adventure race starts out at sea level in the stunning Caernarfon Castle in Wales. A grueling event that has seen them train continuously for the last year, racking up over 400 miles of running along the way.
Sam and Mark then needed to weave their way to the summit of Mt. Snowdon (1085m high) and down the other side into Dinorwic Quarry. Along the way to was an array of punishing obstacles, including the infamous Vertical Kilometre, for them to tackle before they could cross the finishline victorious. It really wasn’t for the feint hearted to say the least!
This is truly an amazing effort from them both and additionally they have raised over £2700 for charity in the process. We are totally humbled by their efforts.
