Arts Award Centre

Little Miracles Cambridge, Ely & Newmarket are a recognised Arts Award Centre for the Arts Award programme. This enables us to provide an officially certificated programme in house for the children that we support. This allows us to encourage and create learning, engagement and participation in a broad range of different arts, music and drama activities.

After 5 weeks of hard work in May 2016 from the children that we support, we were delighted to see 34 of them complete the recognised Arts Award Discover programme and gain certification for their excellent efforts.

As part of the project, 9 of our volunteers also undertook assessor training for the Arts Award scheme qualifying Little Miracles Cambridge, Ely & Newmarket to hold Arts Award Centre status.

Through the duration of the project the children were able to take advantage of such things as t-shirt designing, drawing exercises, clay modelling, stop animation via iPads and Zu3D software, dance and utilise a number of musical instruments. The project saw a fantastic level of engagement from the children alongside their families with many great memories made along the way.

Next Arts Award Project

Our next Arts Award programme is being run between October 1st 2017 and December 17th 2017.

This provides an 11 session period where the children we support need to attend a minimum of 5 sessions during this time to gain certification in the Arts Award Discover programme. The Arts Award Explore option will also be available to achieve.

Arts Award Discover

Arts Award Discover is the introductory award open to children and young people aged up to 25.

To achieve Discover, children and young people discover the arts around them, find out about artists and their work and share their experiences with others, gaining a certificate at the end.

This award provides a great introduction to the arts and to other Arts Award levels.

Arts Award Explore

This award is an Entry Level 3 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). It is the perfect stepping stone from our introductory award, Arts Award Discover, to the Level 1 qualification, Bronze Arts Award.

Anyone aged up to 25 can take part in Arts Award. Arts Award Explore is designed for ages 7 plus. Young people collect their arts experiences in an Explore arts log as they go along, recording what they find and enjoy.
