The summer holidays are over and it’s time for many of our members to dig out their PE kits, find their pencil cases and head back to school but what a summer it has been.
With a huge thanks to the Cheffins Community Fund, managed by CCF (Cambridgeshire Community Foundation) , for making it viable we have seen over 600 attendances at our summer sessions. The children and families we support have been able to take advantage of such things as our “Emergency BBQ”, Zorbing, a Nerf Gun Party, Speedcage andseeing vehicles and equipment from the emergency services alongside Football, Cricket, Interactive equipment, our Sensory and general play to name but a few.
We additionally owe a huge thanks to East Cambs Police, East of England Ambulance Service, Aquazorb, MPH Football, Tesco Ely & Sainsburys Ely for all their participation and brilliant support this summer alongside our amazing volunteers.
Justin Heron, Operations Manager for LMCEN said; “It’s been an amazing summer with some brilliant activities that we look forward to organising again soon. We really appreciate the effort from Cheffins and CCF, working with us in this way to make our plan viable, we were very keen to provide some exciting options this summer and they were all very well received. We also greatly appreciate the support from all the organisations involved with us over the summer, we’re lucky to have the community that we do and are very grateful for it.”
Jane Darlington, Chief executive of Cambridgeshire Community Foundation said “It is great that the grant from the Cheffins Community Fund has helped children with additional needs and disabilities to access some fun and creative sessions in the school summer holidays.”
